Workshop Overview
The three day workshop includes the Principles and Presentation aspects of the course. The first two hours of each day covers the principles, with the afternoon spent devoted to a mixture of presentation of gear and discussion around these items.
Each day will be from 10:00am until 5pmish (approximately 6 hours tuition).

Principles
This is essential survival skills knowledge applicable for survival kits/gear. Classroom based, where a full workbook will be provided at the end of the course.
Presentation
This is a mixture of presentation of kits with detailed explanation, showing the principles behind why we have the choices of kits. An opportunity to try on equipment, with hands on learning. The handout booklet and certificate of attendance will be provided at the end of this part of the workshops.
Taster Workshop
This day workshop is suitable for regular outdoor goers: day hikers, kayakers, mountain bikers and overnight backpackers….essentially anybody who enjoys the great outdoors.
The workshop is designed to give you an overview of the fundamental principles of survival scenarios - how they happen, typical situations and how to avoid. The workshop is survival kit centred. To help you design your survival kit for your personal needs, body type, situation and experience.
This will be in a classroom format, with both theory module and presentation of kits.

Additional learning
Practical
10:00am to 5pm
An in-the-field experience physically putting these principles together. An opportunity to test out the theories under guided instruction. To test out equipment and personal boundaries.
Overnight
Weekend overnight in-the-field training – 10:30am Saturday to 3pm Sunday.
An overnight stay using survival gear, of which some gear may be provided. A full list of required equipment will be provided on booking. An extension of the practical skills, with additional experience of testing out sleeping in survival gear.
Personal Tuition
10:30am to 5pm
One on one, or 2/3 students at a time, for more personalised tuition

What procedures you will need to go through in terms of priorities and areas of where sense of urgency needs applying.
A degree of dexterity skills when handling cutting tools, firecraft and emergency shelters.
An opportunity to experiment with various choices of kits, equipment – saving you money and effort.
An insight into making repairs to kits – fix n mend at home and in the field.
A stimulus to help you branch out to associated topics of survival such as the psychology of survival, advanced navigation, search and rescue, foraging, advanced first aid, nature study, ancient crafts & bushcraft, ad infinitum.
